Students with vision impairment may not be able to clearly see boardwork. Teachers can assist the student to keep pace by simultaneously dictating and writing and by providing a copy of written work.
The use of large clear print is recommended for board work. Yellow chalk is often easiest to see on black boards and blue or black pens on white boards. It is best to ask the student what colour is easiest for them to see.
White boards or black boards should be positioned in an area with the least amount of glare.
Reading notes from overhead projectors can be difficult because of glare. To reduce this problem coloured/tinted transparencies can be used. (Yellow is good).
Providing written work with high contrast and an uncluttered layout will facilitate reading.
